I didn’t mean to be gone for quite so long, but a lot has been going on. Since I last wrote (four months ago, wow!) I got a job! Other things have happened obviously, but the reason I haven’t been writing is because I leave my house at 7:30 a.m. and don’t return until 8 p.m. It’s a long day, to say the least.
I am happy to announce that I am working as the editorial assistant to the food department at Food Network Magazine. It is a dream job in every way. Some days I test basic recipes, once a month I go to a photo shoot, and I’m always regularly reading recipes and debating food-related topics. It sounds nerdy, but it’s exactly what I love doing. And my coworkers are awesome. All these things help ease the sting of the fact that I’m not in college anymore, but that’s a topic for another day.
When I’m not at work I’ve been writing for Her Campus and exploring New York like a tourist. Ever since Robert moved to New York, we’ve been trying to do something fun and new each weekend. In the past few weekends, Robert and I have gone to the Metropolitan, the Whitney and the Moma, ice skated at Bryant Park, walked the Highline and through Central Park, eaten at Smorgasburg and Gotham West (and basically anywhere else I suggest because Robert is so great about that), and watched Brazil beat Ecuador at MetLife Stadium.
I’ve also been to New Orleans (amazing!), Asheville, Atlanta, Chapel Hill and DC since I last wrote. I’d love to do a whole post on those trips, but we’ll see. I’m hoping to start blogging semi-regularly now, so stay tuned! Until next time!
